Elgin City North Councillor Amber Dunbar says she was "delighted" to have the opportunity to join local refuse collectors as they collected brown bins in Elgin.
The Scottish Conservative and Unionist councillor joined workers as they collected the garden waste bins in the Bishopmill area of the town on Thursday.
Amber's visit on the collection routes comes as she also reminds constituents that the deadline for ordering garden waste permits is this Sunday (March 5).
The permits will be cheaper this year for residents in Moray thanks to Conservative councillors supporting a Labour amendment, meaning they have reduced to £36 this year.
Amber says she recognises that demand for the service has increased in recent years but she encourages anyone who has not yet applied to do so, with spring just around the corner.
She added her praise for the staff who continue to provide "a great service" for constituents and that Moray Council will continue to ensure that bin collections are a top priority when it comes to day-to-day services.
Scottish Conservative and Unionist councillor for Elgin City North Amber Dunbar said: "It was great to have the opportunity to join refuse collectors in Elgin as they collected brown bins in my ward.
"The experience was extremely timely with the deadline for residents to apply for garden waste bin permits hitting this weekend.
"It is pleasing that in these tough economic times that Moray Council thanks to Conservative and Labour councillors working together, were able to reduce the costs of this permit for this year.
"Demand has continued to increase for these permits, but I would encourage anyone who has not yet applied to do so before Sunday's deadline to ensure they receive stickers before April.
"It was really useful to have the chance to experience the work our local refuse collectors carry out on their routes first-hand and I praise them for the work they do in our communities.
"As a member of the ruling administration, I will continue to ensure that bin collections are a top priority when it comes to day-to-day services that residents expect to be delivered."
