Beauticians and those offering facial treatment have been left in some confusion over what treatments they are allowed to undertake since permission was given to repoen from the 22nd July. Following many enquiries from local businesses leader of the Conservative group Cllr Tim Eagle has written to the council asking for clarification.
Commenting Cllr Tim Eagle said - “At the end of last week I began to be contacted by local businesses who were confused over what treatments they can now provide. The Scottish Government guidance seemed to clearly indicate that from the 22nd July those offering beauty treatments could reopen and offer services so long as treatments in the ‘high risk zone’ were either not carried out or if they were must be done from the side or back."
“Some local beauty therapists have been left confused though following contact with the council as to whether treatments such as brows and lashes could be done, given these are often done from the back or side whilst the patient is lying down.”
“I am told local businesses have had to cancel appointments given the confusion, given we wish to see our economy recover as quickly as possible this is a real shame.”
“Beauty therapists have worked hard to ensure they have full PPE in place, are making longer appointment slots and deep cleaning, what they need is absolute clarity so they can get back to doing their job.”
