Moray Conservative MP Douglas Ross met with Moray Community Council representatives at an information sharing meeting at Elgin Library on Tuesday 28th May 2019.
Members of Moray’s Community Councils were well represented at the first ‘Meet Your MP’ event arranged to allow an exchange of information and views between the local community representatives and the constituency MP.
Some of the topics covered during discussions related to Broadband, Windfarms, Planning, Transport, Roads and Wildfires.
Speaking after the event Douglas said:
“The meeting with representatives of our Community Councils was the first of what I hope will be many similar meetings as we go forward. It’s important that I’m able to sit down and listen to our Community Councillors, and be hear about the issues that cause concern to those living and working in our communities. Many of the issues we discussed are the same as the ones I receive through my constituent surgeries, casework or local visits, but there are always other issues that arise and need to be addressed and I’m looking to take every opportunity highlight these issues when I can.
“I think the meeting was positive and constructive and I felt there was a very good exchange of views. A particular highlight was learning more about the individual campaigns or initiatives being undertaken by each Community Council which is a positive move and shows the communities they serve what a valuable resource their Community Council can be.”
