Moray MP comments after A96 route option revealed
Moray MP Douglas Ross has commented after Transport Scotland published details outlining the preferred route for the Hardmuir to Fochabers stretch of the A96 dualling project.
Douglas said: “The preferred route of the new dual carriageway which cuts through Moray has been made public and drop-in sessions showing more detail are now being held. I would urge local people to go along to these events to get as much information as possible and answers to any queries they have.
“The consultation is open now until the end of January 2019 and I would encourage the public to maintain dialogue with Transport Scotland to ensure that their concerns are heard.
“Although this is now the preferred route and all others have been discounted it is important that Transport Scotland listen to home owners and business alike who will be directly affected by this decision to get as much detail as possible.
“I will of course continue to make representations to Transport Scotland on behalf of constituents who have contacted me, and many of whom express very genuine concerns over the proposed route.”
“I will also be writing to the Scottish Government to ask to be updated as and when any decisions surrounding construction of this route are taken.”
