MORAY MP Douglas Ross has commented after attending a series of constituency events held in Moray over the weekend.
On Friday, Douglas attended Alves Primary School who were holding a range of activities to mark the UN International Day of Peace. He said: “It was obvious how much time and effort the pupils at Alves Primary School had put into their activities to recognise International Peace Day.
“From the presentations to the display of flags and an excellent dance in the playground, the whole school came together. Pupils, staff and families showed how important it is to recognise this international day of peace. It was a pleasure to join everyone at Alves Primary School for this special event.”
After visiting Elgin Youth Café on Saturday to mark their 21st birthday, Douglas said: “It was excellent to see current and former members of Elgin Youth Café turning out to recognise this significant milestone.
“From very small beginnings, it has grown and grown over the last two decades and the displays on show at Saturday’s birthday party confirmed just how much Elgin Youth Café has done for young people in Moray over the years. It is an outstanding organisation that continues to develop and grow that is a credit to everyone involved now and in the past. I offer them my warmest congratulations on reaching this significant milestone.”
Douglas also visited Lossiemouth Flower and Produce Show on Saturday who were marking their 40th year. He said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit viewing a range of entries at the Lossiemouth show. For this event to have continued for 40 years shows the significant dedication and commitment from the organising team over four decades.
“It was great to see the founding member Reverend David Laing returning to the show to present the prizes. From children’s artwork to home baking, wonderful flowers and exceptional vegetables, it was a great event and the organisers deserve credit for sustaining this show for the last 40 years.”
