Moray MP judges local design competition
Moray MP Douglas Ross has congratulated local businesswoman Linda Gorn for successfully promoting Moray by attracting designers from across Scotland to take part in a competition to design a textile reflecting the spirit of Scotland.
Douglas said: “Linda works very hard to promote the area with the Keith Kilt School and I am always impressed by the work that is done there. I know that she has worked hard on attracting designers to submit entries for this competition.
“I was delighted to be asked to be one of the judges and very impressed at the standard of designs and the range of talent on offer in the local area and from further afield. I thoroughly enjoyed looking through them and found it quite hard to pick a winner.
Linda Gorn said: “I am delighted that we had so many entries which has served to showcase that there is a wealth of talent in our area and I’m delighted that Douglas was able to be on the panel of judges.
“We had some great designs submitted and it was really hard to pick a winner but I’m delighted to congratulate the overall winner Marny Cruickshanks from Elgin on her fantastic design which reflected the spirit of Scotland theme very well.”
