Highlands and Islands MSP Jamie Halcro Johnston has backed the “Scotland Loves Local” campaign which encourages people to use their local shops and support their local High Streets.
Mr Halcro Johnston said: “People across the Highlands and Islands take great pride in their local High Streets.
“They are renowned for their distinctive character, with many still offering an excellent range of shops, cafes, hotels and community facilities, all of which are key parts of community life.
“Our high streets are also an integral part of our local economies, supporting jobs and livelihoods, and will be increasingly important as we battle back after Covid-19.
“We really would be the poorer without them and, while observing public health guidelines, it’s so important we continue to support our local shops.
“I would urge shoppers to “Love Local” and keep supporting their local High Street.”
