Moray Conservative MP Douglas Ross and his family took part in The Great British Beach Clean at the weekend, joining a group of litter pickers at Findhorn beach.
Speaking after the event Douglas said: “We are so lucky to live in a stunning part of the world, and Moray has some of the finest beaches in the country, so I was very keen to be involved in The Great British Beach Clean. My son Alistair, who is 2-and-a-half, rolled up his sleeves and used the litter picker with gusto, which was great to see!
“Discarded plastic and other rubbish wash up along our coastline and is not only unsightly, but also puts our marine life at risk. While The Great British Beach Clean highlights this issue each year, if everyone picked up just a couple of bits of litter every time they go for a walk on one of Moray’s beaches throughout the year then it could make a massive difference.”
Douglas was joined at Findhorn by his wife, Krystle, and their sons Alistair and baby James, who was born at the end of June.
