Moray MP Douglas Ross has slammed the SNP-Green government for another “appalling delay” into the review into the dualling of the A96.
A review was meant to be commissioned for a final public consultation in the autumn, which was already nearly a year later than pledged.
However, it has now been reported that the review has been delayed further and will now only be published in the "coming months."
Douglas says this decision shows how the SNP-Green government are continuing to treat motorists and local communities in Moray with "utter contempt".
He says there are real fears within his constituency that the vital A96 will never be fully dualled because of the influence of the anti-car, anti-growth Greens within the Scottish Government.
Douglas has urged SNP ministers to stop bowing to their demands and instead reaffirm their commitment to dualling this road, as they previously pledged to do.
He has also called on them to confirm when this review will finally be published.
Moray MP Douglas Ross said: “This latest delay is utterly appalling and a slap in the face for motorists and residents across Moray.
“This review has already been kicked into the long grass and it is a disgrace that it won't be seen until the New Year.
“These constant delays sum up the total contempt this SNP-Green government have for motorists and people living and working in Moray.
“There are now very real fears among many of them that this viral route will never be fully dualled, as the SNP once promised to do.
“The SNP need to stop bowing to the demands of their anti-car and anti-growth Green coalition partners and reaffirm their commitment to dualling the A96.
“They must also urgently confirm when this review will be published, as right now my constituents are only being kept in the dark."
