The Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Health, Miles Briggs MSP, is visiting Moray today to find out more about the challenges and opportunities for delivering healthcare in the area.
His schedule includes visits to Dr Gray’s Hospital, Keith Health Centre, Leanchoil Hospital in Forres, and a meeting with GPs in Elgin.
The visit has been organised by Jamie Halcro Johnston, Scottish Conservative MSP for the Highlands and Islands, who said: “I am delighted that Miles is joining us in visiting important health locations across Moray and talking to the people who are actually delivering the services.
“This visit is about fact-finding and about listening to the concerns of local people.
"For instance, there have been a number of concerns raised in Moray recently such as access to maternity and paediatric services, the GP contract and the sustainability of local practices and health centres.
"These are important matters which Miles and I will be seeking updates on.
"We also wish to hear the views of local practitioners about how we can practically improve matters.
“As we approach the Scottish Parliament elections in 2021 we want to make sure that Scottish Conservatives policies are relevant to the needs of people in Moray and grounded in the realities of peoples’ lives.”
