Moray Conservatives select Buckie resident Tim Eagle to stand in Moray Council elections
Tim Eagle has been chosen by local Conservative members to be their candidate in this year’s council elections for the Buckie ward.
On being selected Tim said, “After standing in 2015 in the Buckie by-election I am delighted to again seek an opportunity to serve the people of this area. Moray council faces tough times ahead and I believe as a young family man I can help bring representation to the council to protect and enhance our local facilities and services.”
“I want to see Buckie and the surrounding communities move from strength to strength over the next few years and want to use my diverse experience to ensure council services are truly meeting the needs of local people and make sure their views are heard."
Tim lives on a small farm in Drybridge with his wife Rachel, a GP in Keith, and their three young children Hannah, Sam and Callum. Currently working as a famer and farming consultant Tim also sits on the community council, on the board of a local charity, on the PTA of his children’s school and helps with Junior Church.
Tim has worked in a diverse range of sectors including as a police officer, with renewable energy and rural business. He completed a masters degree in Land Economy at Aberdeen University. Tim and his wife came to Moray over 13 years ago after Rachel was posted on a medical placement to Dr Grays Hospital. During this time they fell in love with the beautiful Moray coastline and moved to their house in Drybridge. Two of their children currently attend Portessie Primary School.
Education, Social care and leisure facilities are the priorities for Tim. He said, “I am acutely aware of the benefits of having local schools, swimming pools, sports clubs and more in this area. My family and myself use these facilities weekly and I want to ensure that despite financial constraints we protect them.”
“We are fortunate to live in a lovely area. As well as Buckie the ward includes Portessie, Findochty, Buckpool and many smaller but equally important communities, and if elected will do my best to protect the villages and countryside from developments and cuts, which may not be best, suited to rural Moray.
Tim has won the support of local MSP Douglas Ross. Douglas said, “I’m delighted that Tim has been selected as our candidate in the Buckie ward. He is very aware of the challenges which the area faces in the coming years and if elected his knowledge and experience will make him an asset to the local authority. The council will benefit from people like Tim who understand the needs of local people and businesses and I look forward to working closely with him on the issues that matter to this area.
Tim added, “The Moray Conservatives have put together a new generation of community spirited, hard working people to fight this election and bring about a fresh start for Moray Council. Under Ruth Davidson the Scottish Conservatives are no longer an organisation of the past but, along with our local MSP Douglas Ross, one that is now firmly looking to the future. I would welcome the opportunity to represent you as a young family member in this ward.
“I would be delighted to hear from you on [email protected] or alternatively please take the time to find out more about me and why I am standing with the Scottish Conservatives by visiting either of the below.”
