Buckie to host Question Time with Douglas Ross MP and local politicians
Moray MP Douglas Ross is to be joined by MSP Peter Chapman and Moray Councillor Tim Eagle (Buckie) at a special “Question Time” event in Buckie. The three local Conservative politicians are inviting residents to put questions directly to them at the event which is thought to be the first public meeting of its type to take place in Buckie for many years.
The event – which is open to all – will take place on Friday 23 March beginning at 7pm at the Royal British Legion, 65 High Street, Buckie.
Douglas said: “I am very keen to hear directly from local people about what is concerning them. It may be the future of Scotland’s fishing fleet after Brexit, it could be about broadband or it could be local issues specific to Buckie and the surrounding area. It really doesn’t matter and the panel will do its very best to provide answers to the questions that are put to us.
“We will have all three levels of government represented on the panel. Peter is a member of Ruth Davidson’s shadow cabinet at Holyrood with responsibility for the rural economy and connectivity while Tim is chairman of Moray Council’s children and young people’s committee. Hopefully between us we should have most subjects covered!
“I feel it is vital as a local representative that not only do we speak in the chamber but we listen to the views of local people. I‘ve held many surgeries around Moray since my election and this is another way of making myself as accessible as possible to local people.”
