Leader of the Conservative Councillor group on Moray Council Cllr Tim Eagle has welcomed news that NHS Grampian are ensuring there is regular testing facilities in Moray now with the use of a mobile unit visiting every other day.
Commenting Cllr Tim Eagle said: “Douglas Ross MP and myself began a campaign last week to highlight the concern from members of the public that there was no testing available in Moray. This has led to some long trips with sick children for concerned members of the community. We wrote to the Scottish Government and NHS Grampian highlighting this as an issue and I am pleased to hear that NHS Grampian have now ensured that regular testing is available in the area.”
“I have been told that a mobile testing unit is alternating between Peterhead and Elgin every other day which offers a positive change for local people. Because the unit is mobile it also gives NHS Grampian the ability to move that unit to other towns in the area should the need arise.”
“I cannot thank enough the hard work of the NHS Public health team. They have been working very hard to design outbreak plans in order to keep communities throughout the North East safe. I know that work is ongoing and I am delighted they are taking the time to keep in contact with Moray Councillors to ensure a consistent message is delivered."
"I am pleased they recognised the concerns of local people in regards local testing”
