Following a meeting of the education committee today, local Councillor Tim Eagle is delighted that approval has been given to move forward with a replacement artificial pitch in Buckie.
Commenting Cllr Tim Eagle says,
“In committee today we were shown a survey of Morays current 3g pitches which raised several concerns. Buckie was listed as the worst condition currently in Moray and I am delighted that following debate it has been agreed that the council will move forward to the tender stage to provide a full replacement pitch on the current facility.”
“I know myself how important this facility is using it for football most weeks. It is a very well used facility which I am keen to ensure will be with us long into the future.”
“During the meeting I raised the concerns of local people who had commented on whether a future pitch could be designed to be used by as many sports as possible and that the new design must factor in the potential implication to the environment and mitigate these as much as possible.”
“I am delighted that council officers will be looking into both of these things ensuring that we provide a high quality multi-sport accessible pitch with an environmentally friendly design that will be a long lasting sports asset for our town.”
