Having been contacted by local residents in the Tomintoul area about damage to the structure of the Conglass Bridge, Moray MP Douglas Ross has contacted Moray Council, seeking reassurances that the bridge has been checked and continues to be safe for everyday use while repairs are organised.
Douglas said: “I was contacted by a resident of Tomintoul, who took photographs of significant damage to the structure of the Conglass Bridge on the A939 road between Tomintoul and Grantown. A large section of the stone work has fallen away leaving a lot of the structure exposed.
“Understandably, those using the bridge are concerned as to how safe it is for everyday traffic and have intimated that they have had no notification from Moray Council as to the current situation or any plans to repair the bridge.
“I have contacted Moray Council seeking assurance that the bridge is still safe to use and seeking an update on when repairs will be carried out”.
