Moray MP Douglas Ross says he is “delighted” to be getting ready to undertake his annual summer surgery tour across his constituency.
Douglas’ annual tour around Moray’s towns and villages returned in a face-to-face format last year after being cancelled for two years due to the Covid pandemic.
This year's tour will be split across two weeks with the first part beginning on Monday July 24th and finishing on Friday July 28th, before Douglas returns to carry out more surgeries between Monday August 14th and Wednesday August 16th.
In total Douglas will visit 49 communities beginning on 24th July at Urquhart Village Hall with the final stop taking place on 16th August at Edinkillie Village Hall. No appointments are necessary, with each surgery lasting approximately 45 minutes.
Douglas says the recess period in both Parliaments offer him the “perfect chance” to get out and about more in Moray and listen to the issues that are concerning local residents.
He added that there is no substitute for meeting people face-to-face and hopes that local people will find a suitable surgery to come along to in the coming weeks if they have issues they would like to raise.
Moray MP Douglas Ross said: “I am delighted to once again confirm my summer surgery tour for this year. It was great to have it back last year, following two years of cancellations due to the pandemic.
“There really is no substitute for meeting people face-to-face in their community and gaining a better understanding of the issues they are facing.
“The recess period in both Parliaments offers me a perfect chance to get out and about across Moray and visit as many communities as possible. I believe my summer surgery tour achieves that as I visit nearly 50 towns and villages over the coming weeks.
“I hope that will allow as many constituents as possible in Moray to come along to a surgery of their choice and I will be happy to take up any concerns local people have. Of course, my office in Forres is always open if anyone cannot make one of the dates on my summer surgery tour.”
